Science Day – 2025

British Science Week entered its third decade in 2025 (taking place on 7-16 March) and the theme to mark the start of this new era was ‘Change and adapt’. Changing and adapting plays a big part in science; you can find examples in every area of STEM!

Throughout the day, the children immersed themselves in the world of science! Activities included completing fun experiments in groups, observing interesting reactions and problem solving! There was also a focus on our Career-Related Learning focus where each year group were given a career in science to research! These included Marine Biologist, Ecologist and and Meteorologist!

3L held their class assembly during our Science Day and the theme was ‘STREAM Careers: The Future Starts Here!’ The children spoke wonderfully about all of the amazing career opportunities there are within the science industry!

We also held our annual ‘Crazy Scientist Dress-Up Competition’! Children were asked to dress up as ‘Crazy Scientists’ and their outfits were judged by the teachers in their phase.

Meet our 2025 winners! Each child received a scientific prize to say well done for their creativity and hard work making their costume!

Nursery winner: Rocco G

KS1 winner: Ruben (1C)

LKS2 winner: Jenayla (3H)

UKS2 winner: Kian K-B (5P)

Science Day - 2024

The theme this year for British Science Week is ‘Time!’ As it is the 30th anniversary of British Science Week – we wanted to celebrate this huge milestone by thinking about time since the week began, and looking towards the future!

From learning all about ‘Our Planet through Time’ to exploring ‘Technology through Time’, the children spent the day celebrating everything Science! Activities also included completing fun experiments in groups, observing interesting reactions and problem solving!

There was also a ‘Crazy Scientist Dress-Up Competition’! Children were asked to dress up as ‘Crazy Scientists’ and their outfits were judged by Mrs Downward. Check out our final contenders:
