Lyng Community Association
Lyng Community Association is working with Barratt Homes and Sandwell Council to redevelop the 18-acre estate with new homes for rent and sale, public open space and a playground. The deal also means in investment in local public services, such as education.
Housebuilder Barratt West Midlands has funded and installed new adventure playground equipment at Lyng Primary School for pupils to enjoy as part of the high profile redevelopment, which is well under way. Already around 100 homes have been built and occupied at the development.
The play area, for seven to 11-year-old pupils, includes a range of climbing equipment, ladders, netting and rubber stepping posts, plus safety flooring and artificial grass so it can be used in all weathers.
Andrew Fowler, headteacher at Lyng Primary School, said: “We are delighted with this impressive new adventure playground and the children love it. It has made break-times much more enjoyable and fun for them."
